Position Overview
The CNC Lathe Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC lathes equipped with twin spindles, Fanuc controls, live tooling, and a 4’ bar feeder. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced with modern CNC technology, and committed to producing precision parts efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate twin-spindle CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
Utilize live tooling capabilities for complex turning/milling operations.
Load and manage production using a 4-foot bar feeder.
Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
Perform tool changes, offsets, edits, and minor program adjustments as needed.
Monitor machining operations, inspect finished parts, and ensure part quality with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to maintain high productivity.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.
Collaborate with supervisors and engineering staff to improve processes and part flow.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience operating or setting up CNC lathes in a production environment.
Hands-on experience with twin-spindle machines, Fanuc controls, live tooling, and bar feeders.
Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, speeds/feeds, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.
Proficiency with precision measurement instruments.
Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with [Mazak, Fortune, etc.]
Basic G-code editing skills.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
