Preferred in MN but open to out of state. POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for supporting global production network infrastructure within a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment, ensuring the network is always fast, available, scalable, and engineered to withstand unparalleled demand. You will be working in a team that combines network engineering, operations, system administration, and tools/automation development to design, implement and operate the global production software-defined networks as well as the traditional network LAN/WAN environments. Team resources will leverage you as the (SME) subject matter expert with regard to supporting our network tools and Cisco devices. Includes working in a technical command center environment to maintain smooth operation of our global IT Network. Issues will include complex, time-sensitive, and critical issues. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions. Support Cloud technology strategies and solutions that enable devices residing on the same or different systems to access and utilize the network. Experience with F5 Load Balancer support and troubleshooting Remote Access, VPN, and Firewall) using a toolkit developed. Help to design process and procedures that help to detect network infrastructure alerts. Serve as (SME) subject matter expert to colleagues with regard network training and technical knowledge transfer. Engage with engineering teams to support existing virtual/converged environments. Partners with suppliers, architects, engineers, developers, and internal customers to provide expert guidance in designing, testing, deploying, and operating highly scalable software defined network systems. Understand business requirements related to the global network and security infrastructure for our locations worldwide. Establish working relationships with our business partners. Implement business-focused solutions. Work under the direction and collaboratively with peer employees in the Global Network Services team as well as partner organizations chartered with protecting the information resource. Troubleshoot firewall and IPS related application issues Consult with applications projects that require network security services. Provide technical troubleshooting using network management and security tools. Monitor WAN/MAN circuits and equipment for outages, performance issues, abnormal usage, errors or resource issues. Provide traffic analysis on WAN circuits. Network application troubleshooting with packet analyzers. Application Delivery Controller experience. Install, configure and troubleshoot. Monitor LAN equipment for outages, performance issues, abnormal usage, errors, or resource issues. Fault isolation and problem determination for all Network Operation Center related issues including network connectivity and latency issues. Work with vendors and end users to resolve issues. Troubleshoot and isolate failed equipment and circuits remotely or on-site. IP address management. Install, configure and troubleshoot to include IPAM DNS and DHCP. Manage and administer Enterprise monitoring toolsets. Maintain network documentation. Create Change Management for network-related changes. Develop, write and present technical standard operating procedures as necessary. As well as provide necessary training within the team as well as other teams. Install, configure and manage end-user VPN solutions. Rotational 24/7 on-call support required. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: One or more Cisco Certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCDP/CCIE) Network Operations Center model experience Experienced in Cloud management platforms and offerings DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated hands-on skills with any of the following Cisco hardware/software: switches, wireless access points, remote access products, routers, ACS, and Cisco Prime Network Monitoring Tools: CA Spectrum, CA Performance Center, CA NetFlow, Thousandeyes, Etc., Automation Scripting using Python, Pearl, JSON & Selenium Strong oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated hands-on skills with Application Delivery Controllers and VPN concentrators Strong oral / presentation skills and demonstrated written communication skills Proactive communication with management, team, and clients Technical diagramming communications skills Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively Technical strength, demonstrated by continuous technical education, coursework, applicable experience, and certification Process development and adherence, ability to set and meet deadlines Process orientation, ITIL or similar training and experience desired Any of the following (or in progress) are 'good to have: Cisco CCNA, CCNP, SANS GIAC Security Expert (GSE), Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP), CCIE Security, (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert Security), CCSE Plus (Check Point Certified Security Expert Plus), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
