Job Description

  • Maintain operating condition and perform preventive maintenance of assigned machinery and equipment
  • Maintain boiler and HVAC equipment in all Owatonna facilities
  • Perform periodic boiler test as required
  • Perform emergency breakdown repair, re-alignment, disassemble and reassemble on the assigned equipment to assure that equipment is readily available to meet customer production requirements
  • Assist in the installation and rearrangement of production equipment according to plant layouts and drawings following Bosch’s policies, which ultimately facilitate production needs
  • Assist fellow technicians as required to perform PM and work overloads to assure equipment maintenance requirements are performed on a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively to fellow technicians, operation associates and area leadership status of work performed
  • Plan, prioritize and schedule work by effectively communicating with production teams to assure adequate time is allowed for repairs and PM of production equipment. Additional communication may include, but is not limited to, information and meeting settings
  • Coordinate outside contractors when needed for repairs or projects
  • Assist with routine administrative tasks and department back-up functions associated with assuring that the department and team goals are supported, monitored and attained
  • Continually monitor repair methods, processes and procedures to assure meeting departmental and divisional safety and performance goals in order to maintain or improve cost competitiveness. Work as a team member to determine and implement necessary changes
  • Follow and continually monitor established safety procedures, such as lockout/tagout program, to assure a safe work environment is promoted and maintained
  • Partner with suppliers for replacement parts, services, support, including delivery
  • Ability to work in elevated areas, roofs, confined spaces

Qualifications

  • 2 year technical degree in Electronics, HVAC, Mechanics or 2 plus years of equivalent work experience
  • State licensed boiler or ability to get licensed in 1 year time span
  • Boiler maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated ability and proven knowledge in the following: Safety practices at the workplace, General Maintenance in the following: Mechanics, HVAC Systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Motors and Motor Controls, Basic Electrical, Computer efficiencies
  • Basic knowledge of various types of electrical motors, bearings, belts, filters
  • Basic problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of fire alarms and security systems a plus
  • Basic knowledge of various types of electrical drive motors and control systems
  • Basic knowledge of PLC ladder for troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with the concept of Total Productive Maintenance
  • Ability to perform basic preventative maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Basic PC and On-line computing skills – Microsoft Office tools and CMMS skills preferred
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in an informative manner
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Ability assist in other duties of facilities maintenance
  • Ability to install and service basic auxiliary equipment such as motors, reservoir/tanks, fans, filtration systems, etc.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment with assistance of other technicians and/or equipment manuals
  • Ability to use basic maintenance diagnostic/inspection tools such as multi-meters, infrared scanners, caliper, leak detectors, gages, measuring tape, etc.
