Our client is seeking a

Mechanical Designer to

participate in the layout and configuration of both standard and custom product that meet the technical requirements, project cost, and schedule criteria required by the customer. This position work as a team on a project queue, executing submittals and fabrication drawings while acting as the primary technical contact, from layout through field measurement and installation. It is common for this position to be dedicated to a product line or group of product lines where depth of knowledge and problem-solving skills can be highly developed over time working towards an expert-level type of project support.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline considered ideal, or two-year technical college certificate with equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel to performing field measurements, typically 5-8 days per month (non-consecutive)
  • 2 years field experience in a construction trade
  • The ability to interpret architectural and mechanical drawings/blueprints
  • Product layout and development experience utilizing SolidWorks design and modeling
  • Familiarity with Project Management techniques and tools; Engineering data management system experience preferred
  • Manufacturing fabrication or assembly experience helpful
  • Familiarity with 2D layout in AutoCAD and exposure to BIM workflow in Revit/NavisWorks
  • Prior experience with laser scanners, point clouds or other means of conducting field measurements is ideal.
