Job Description
The
Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting various aspects of the Quality Management and Methods (QMM) for the Bosch Owatonna plant in a very dynamic landscape. In addition, the Quality Engineer will actively participate as a vital team member that will support in new product launch, existing production, problem solving, and continuous improvement activities.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and support use of sound system/process improvement tools (APQP, FMEA, DOE, 8D, PDCA, CIP, etc.).
- Provides interface between plant and customer quality issues to resolve concerns, complaints, material disposition and reporting as required.
- Conducts returned part analysis from internal and external customers with support of manufacturing, design engineering and production.
- Analysis of internal and external quality performance statistics to identify and drive actions to meet key performance indicator.
- Work closely with production and support departments on assembly processes and system improvements; process Change Requests.
- Lead and/or support structured problem solving processes and follow-up on actions to confirm effectiveness of corrective actions
- Summarize and present results in a clear adequate manner.
- Promotes and supports the company quality policy, procedures, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Carry out subject-specific training for employees if necessary.
- Successfully work and interact within cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
Qualifications
- 2+ Years experience as a quality and/or manufacturing engineer.
- Bachelor Engineering preferred
- Demonstrated skills / certification in systematic problem solving methodologies (Shainin, Six Sigma, Kepner-Trego, etc.)
- Experience with APQP, PFMEA / Control Plans, PPAP, etc.
- Excellent communication with an ability to interact effectively with Production workers, Supervisors, Managers, and Customers as required.
- High level of organization and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Working Skills: Structured, strong analytical/ problem solving skills, customer focus and business knowledge.
- Must be capable to work independently, within a team as well as flexibility to adapt to changing environments. Goal and result oriented.
- Background in manufacturing assembly processes a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with SAP systems.
- Willingness to travel 1-3 time per year, as needed domestically.
