Job Description

This position is responsible for supporting research and implementation of safety and HR compliance. This includes oversight and administration of safety programs and human resource related compliance of established company policies and applicable legal requirements (i.e. federal, state, and local regulations).

The following are a list of responsibilities that may be included with the position:

  • Working together with the HR & Safety teams to communicate the requirements associated with all applicable safety and HR-related legal/regulatory and compliance programs.
  • Stay abreast on all employee-related legislative and regulatory changes and/or developments, and ensure changes to rules and regulations are restructured with HR systems, policies, and practices under the direction of HR department management.
  • Research changes in laws and regulations analyze their impact on the organization and communicate findings to HR department management.
  • Responsible for drafting policy, process and procedures.
  • Lead safety meetings while responsible for taking notes of the meeting as well as presenting current status and next steps on projects.
  • Lead safety project management and creation of safety protocols.
  • Audit and update current company compliance and safety under the direction of management.
  • Responsible for supporting in the preparation and delivery of compliance-related training and communications to employees.
  • File and track required daily safety documentation.
  • Provide excellent customer service for our employees and others.
  • Verify all emails have been responded to and direct to appropriate party if not responded.
  • Act as a back-up to other processes within the department.
  • Additional projects under the direction of management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Strong data entry speed and efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 3-5 plus years of compliance and safety specialist experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work with confidential information is essential.
  • Ability to stay on task and focused in a fast paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations in multi-state employer(s)
  • Demonstrated research abilities in creating and delivering presentations to HR professionals.
  • Ability to design processes and programs that align with the operations of the business.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks associated with the position
  • Ability to analyze research and data thoroughly and present options to the appropriate individuals.
