Location: Plymouth, MN Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sr. Product Owner to work on a new Financial Reporting application. The ideal candidate is a Technical Product Owner who is accustomed to working on technical projects, optimally with Financial experience given the substance of the data/reports in the new tool. Strong IT background managing complex IT Project with very tight timelines. Strong experience with data management and data transformation.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Promote and drive Agile development methodology throughout the team/s, providing direction and support to development and quality assurance teams
  • Promote Agile product management processes, stays abreast of new emerging technology capabilities and leverages knowledge in contributing to product solutions ? Define, prioritize, and drive realization of specific product vision
  • Accountable to represent business partners crossing functional areas to transform vision into requirements align and deliver objectives. Escalate blocking items to Stakeholders when applicable
  • Accountable for aligning business teams thru development of communications, socialization, and education of objectives and detailed requirements guiding team members to accomplish objectives
  • Serve as the 'voice of the customer' with delivery teams, representing/reinforcing the customer's perspective throughout the product realization cycle
  • Manage developing requirements and prioritization of backlog, continuously and transparently communicate with internal stakeholders the prioritization of the Product Backlog and status
  • Reviews, accepts, and prioritizes feedback and new requirements from project stakeholders
  • Work with Scrum Masters to help direct, motivate, and guide the delivery teams
  • Ensure that Scrum Team deliverables meet agreed-upon standards for quality and non-functional requirements, and that the products meet the stated business need
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of designers, business analysts, developers, testers and others to develop and execute against Product Roadmaps and Release Plans
  • Collaborates with Solution architect and Development leads to refine Product Backlog
  • Own, prioritize, and maintain the Product Backlog, including definition of features, user stories, acceptance criteria
  • Break down features into stories consumable and testable by a scrum team
  • Collaborate with business partners in usability testing and the development of the user design
  • Manage, prioritize, and assess the impact of defects, including providing key input on the decisions to fix or defer
  • Review output of development to ensure specified acceptance criteria has been completed
  • Defines and analyzes metrics that measure and benchmark product success
  • Release Management Activities (Release planning, dry run, testing support, communication)
  • Rally (Kanban board)
  • Maintain Project Roadmap
  • Provide Demos to leadership on progress
  • Status reporting on progress of project (risk/remediation/actions)
  • Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years in Project Management (or related positions) in the Health Care Industry
  • 5 + years of experience working with Agile development methodology
  • 2+ years acting as a Product Owner for development teams: Writing user stories, and following the development process through user story acceptance
  • 1+ years of Release Management
  • Advanced level of proficiency with PC based software programs required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with RALLY
  • Self-starter with the ability to appropriately assess the need for independent decision-making verses leadership escalation
  • Ability to react to product adjustments and expectations promptly and efficiently
  • Strong technical skills and ability to pick up new technologies quickly is beneficial
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Experience with Passion for customers and a demonstrated focus on customer experience
  • Energy, motivation, and commitment to drive to results in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to meet commitments, build consensus, negotiate resolutions and garner respect from other teams
