Job Description

Starting Salary: $16-21/hour DOQ

Organize and assist supervision of restaurant servers, bartenders, and support staff to ensure all shifts are executed smoothly and ensure high quality guest service and 100% satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute and/or supervise the essential duties & responsibilities of a server, bartender, and support staff.
  • Ensure effectiveness of the staff through communications; coaching, counseling; monitoring and appraising job results; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures; and provide educational and development opportunities.
  • Direct operation of department in manager’s absence; Acting as an ambassador to client, guests, and vendors.
  • Investigate and resolve service complaints to achieve high guest satisfaction and peak staff performance.
  • Ensure the restaurant is clean and organized; develop, implement, and enforce daily, weekly, and monthly assigned projects.
  • Mastery of SJH Point of Sale
  • Maintains staff by assisting in recruitment, selection, orientation, and training employees, maintaining a safe, secure and legal work environment.
  • Comply with all Health Code guidelines to guarantee we are handling anything consumed by our guests safely and properly.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and six months to one year related experience/training in a premier restaurant or banquet facility; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Proficient use of Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet,
  • Able to demonstrate good verbal, written, and communication skills with attention to detail and interpersonal relationships with guests and employees.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and prioritization skills.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Attention to detail and interpersonal relationships with guests and employees.
  • Must be able to relate to all different types of people from different cultures and backgrounds. Must establish trust between customers and the company, and must give the impression of sincerity, empathy and willingness to serve the customer.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends.
  • Regularly required to walk and/or stand for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at shoulder height and occasionally move up to 100 pounds.
