Summary:We are hiring a Big Data Engineer. This role will be 100% remote, anywhere within the U.S. Open to C2C

Responsibilities:Youll be part of a progressive, technology-focused Agile team that is dedicated to identifying and delivering solutions to our customers and employees with smart technology and teamwork.? Youll understand our company values along with Agile and lean software development principles. Youll proactively engage in both internal and external learning opportunities. Youll have responsibility for the full development life cycle of the solution, including detailed design, code development, code reviews, unit testing, build/test support, data quality monitors, deployment activities and post-deployment support. Youll build great leadership skills by managing and optimizing ETL along with analytic operations: job-stream definition and management, parameters, scheduling, monitoring, communication and alerting. Youll juggle multiple project timelines simultaneously (and gracefully), and estimate development duration and effort for all projects. Youll communicate openly and candidly with your Team Leader and other teammates verbally and written. Youll be hands on with Big Data activities of acquisition, ingestion, transformation, and data quality.

Qualifications:2 years of SQL experience with the ability to write complex SQL statements while leveraging optimal code hygiene practices 3 years delivering production applications on Big Data technologies (Map/Reduce, Tez, Spark, Hive, Unix, etc.)?by leveraging one of the following types of languages Python, Java or Scala. Active understanding of available APIs along with optimization of applications leveraging them. Knowing when and how to leverage NoSQL data stores, messaging or pub-sub queuing systems and data processing frameworks. A proven track record of fearlessly designing, deploying and evolving ETL solutions to meet business requirements via creating programming best practices for a particular platform. Proven analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and ability to communicate well even to non-technical users Built solutions last the test of time by leveraging advanced testing techniques and implemented proper audits, alerts, and notifications that proactively measures failures before they happen. Be passionate about learning and teaching new methods and practices along with walking the talk from your past experiences. Proven ability to work autonomously or in a team setting along with mentoring your best practices to others. Hortonworks, EMR, AWS experience gets you extra credit.
