Position Overview: This position will serve as an engineer in IBM i infrastructure, database, operating systems, IBM SAN based technologies and apply knowledge to the enterprise. This role will collaborate with architects, developers, and engineers to develop overall solutions, including options analysis and trade-offs that properly balance both IT and business constraints. The Systems Engineer will serve as a thought leader to guide people, processes, and technology.
Responsibilities:
Represent broad expertise in domain team in technical design and estimating sessions with internal and external IT customersAnalyze and recommend changes to improve efficiency, lower costs, and enhance quality of business applicationsEstablish processes for security and DR processes.

Measuring system performance using iDoctorManage DB2 database performance via SQE Plan Cache, CQE SQL packagesManaging ODBC/JDBC connectivity for external users and applicationsIBM i Power Systems platform with a focus on high availability of internal and external applicationsBuild and Configure IBM System I Power system machines including Virtual I/O LPARs (VIOS), Power 8, 9 or 10Power HA replicationManaging IBM storage arrays (System Storage DS8870,DS8886, DS8888, DS8950, Storwize, Flash Systems) including managing volumesExtensive disaster recovery test/configuration experienceData DomainMinimum OS level experience IBM I 7.3Additional qualifications: 5+ years of senior level experience with IBM i, iSeries, or AS/400Experience working in healthcare, PBM, specialty pharmacy, or health care consulting in a related capacity.Strong knowledge of IBM i operating system, database (DB2) and related productsStrong knowledge of IBM security and DR processesStrong knowledge of multiple LPAR and servers maintenance and patch processUnderstanding of logical and disk based (IBM DS8) replication technologiesWorking knowledge of BRMS, PTFs, MIMIX, and other third party tools like PowerTechIBM I Security and certified security engineer.
