Genesis10 is seeking a IT - Business Systems Analyst III for a contract position with our client in Richfield, MN. (Currently remote)

Tell us about your department: Recommendations maintains a collection of APIs that recommend products within a variety of touchpoints for the customer journey on dotcom, mobile apps, voice assistants, e-mail marketing and associate facing tools. Recommendations owns and maintains an exploration model as well as machine learning model to select the right set of products for a customer at either a macro or micro personalization level.

Project Description: The Recommendations team follows the product model which means the BSA will be on a team that Client expects to be investing in for several years. As a part of the Recommendations team, the BSA will work on enhancements to the Recommendations platform and understanding the Recommendations team's part in larger enhancements that span multiple teams.

Position Summary/Job Description: The BSA will report into the engineering organization and will work on an agile team participating in many aspects of the agile process, including requirements gathering, sprint planning, story estimating, manual testing scenarios related to a story and coming up with testing scenarios for automation tests. The BSA will rapidly elicit requirements from product management and deliver user stories suitable for engineering consumption. The BSA will periodically provide support for applications in lower environments and in production.

Skills Overview:
  • 5+ years of experience in requirements gathering/story writing, manually testing solutions, verifying logs & dashboards to ensure requirements are met and stories can be accepted
  • 3+ years of experience in agile methodology for delivery
  • 3+ years of experience manually testing solutions to ensure requirements are met.

What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job?
  • Multiple years of relevant requirements gathering experience for software development commensurate to the position.
  • Multiple years of experience gathering requirements for solutions that span multiple applications.
  • Ability to demonstrate and validate system functionality manually and explain what has changed
  • Ability to understand/comprehend system behavior/functionality by looking at api contract documents, application logs, monitoring dashboards
  • Ability to articulate functionality of systems in a well-organized concise manner

What are some preferred/nice to have skills the manager is looking for?
  • 7+ years of experience in gathering testable requirements for solutions consisting of microservices, distributed processing, machine learning and user interfaces.
  • Experience gathering requirements for solutions using Apache Solr.
  • Experience gathering requirements for solutions using Apache Cassandra.
  • Experience gathering requirements for solutions using Machine Learning
