Imagine loving what you do and where you do it.Target Openings 1Job Description Summary This key Data Engineering Technology Leader role will provide technical solutions and oversee the technology direction for all Insights/Embedded Analytical applications while exploring and recommending tools and technologies to modernize the BI Business capability. The role will be part of a full-stack data & reporting team to create data pipelines, ensure quality & accuracy, design & build BI visualizations, automate SQL scripts, all to deliver world-class data visualizations and analytics for our customers. Create and enhance data solutions that enable seamless integration and flow of data across the data ecosystem. Provide technical analysis and develop ETL code and scripting to meet all technical specifications and business requirements according to the established designs. Deploy AI/ML models, and deliver key measures to manage and monitor outliers, trends as well as prescriptive decisions. Successful candidate will have experience with data modelling, scripting, and automation. Has a broad, conceptual understanding of the business and technology architecture trends and directions coupled with demonstrated technical mastery for technologies, frameworks, and/or languages and has the ability to influence and/or set technical direction.Must possess an agile mindset and a deep commitment to the principles of agile software development. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities- Directs assigned staff to implement and/or maintain systems of high complexity and/or projects of major business unit significance.
- Recognized as a leader in data science utilizing technology to develop and/or redesign the company's processes.
- Makes key contributions to the creation and implementation of strategic technology plans and programs.
- Responsible for managing multiple information systems and systems projects of major business unit and/or enterprise significance.
- Leads efforts to utilize technology to develop and redesign organizational processes.
- Builds, maintains, and utilizes high-level partnerships across the enterprise ensuring the best use of resources.
- Provides technical leadership, fosters a team environment, and provides mentorship and feedback to technical resources.
- Applies knowledge of current industry trends and techniques to formulate solutions within the context of assigned projects.
- Ensures team's work complies with Travelers standards, processes, and protocols.
- Applies industry best practices to Travelers.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, and five years of programming/development experience.
- 1 year of experience as a technical lead required.
- 9 years of programming/development experience preferred.
- 2 years of experience as a technical lead preferred.

- Technical Knowledge:
- Able to perform as a lead technologist and masterfully assess and design applications, systems solutions, and interfaces for multiple systems according to business requirements.
- Has a broad, conceptual understanding of the business and technology architecture trends and directions coupled with demonstrated technical mastery for technologies, frameworks, and/or languages and has the ability to influence and/or set technical direction. Demonstrates proficiency in business concepts.
- Demonstrates expert knowledge of applications/systems and concepts.
- Able to evaluate and leverage pre-existing services and frameworks.
- AWS / Cloud Architecture, Teradata, Microservices and Event-Driven Architectures
- Python, Pyspark, Java, Spring Boot, WebSphere MQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka
- Relational database management systems, SQL Server, SQL databases, SQL stored procedures and data marts
- Experience with Salesforce architecture preferred
