Job Description Summary We seek a talented and knowledgeable Sr. Architect to join our Bond & Specialty Insurance Technology team. We are a highly motivated and skilled team of professionals who are leading Travelers' technology transformation journey and driving business value that creates a sustainable competitive advantage for our company. We deliver, implement and administer technology solutions that enable all Bond & Specialty Insurance employees to be more effective at their jobs and meet the needs of our company's customers.This position may be based 100% remotely or in one of our offices. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

This position will:

• Provide strategic thinking to influence strategies, roadmaps and drive architectural recommendations/point-of-views through Bond & Specialty Architecture Center of Excellence and Architecture Chapter

• Ensure architectural adherence through blueprint and design reviews

• Assist in the remediation of application stability and performance

• Adopt and communicate new concepts, ideas, techniques, best practices and provide technology assistance to our teams

• Be responsible for the development and production support of enterprise application utilities and models to include publishing best practices and guidelines for supported technologies

• Work with vendors and product management areas to establish required infrastructures and frameworks

• Provide standard solutions to solve business and technical needs

• Perform product evaluations, and proofs of concept.

The preferred technology foundations may include the following:
  • Minimum six years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture.
  • 3+ years of experience designing/implementing REST-based services and event-driven architectures
  • 3+ years of experience with Domain-driven design techniques
  • 3+ years of experience designing/implementing .NET Core and .NET framework-based applications
  • AWS experience/certification a plus
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture required.

Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture preferred.

Job Specific:

This position will:

• Work hands-on as an agile team member creating highly impactful cross-Bond & Specialty Insurance products in the cloud supporting all Value Streams.

• Provide strategic thinking and thought-leadership for cloud, API, and event-driven architecture to influence strategies, roadmaps and drive architectural recommendations/point-of-views through Bond & Specialty Architecture Center of Excellence and Architecture Chapter

• Ensure architectural adherence through blueprint and design reviews

• Assist in the remediation of application stability and performance

• Adopt and communicate new concepts, ideas, techniques, best practices and provide technology assistance to our teams

• Work with vendors and product management areas to establish required infrastructures and frameworks

• Provide standard solutions to solve business and technical needs

  • You will explore technology and design patterns that will enable us to maintain our competitive edge in the digital world
  • You will influence large, highly complex enterprise-impactful strategies and flesh out technical points-of-view describing our best path forward as part of the Architecture Chapter
  • You will be able to influence and set technical direction for our Agile Teams

  • You will design solutions for new and exciting capabilities that will enable our customers to be better connected and engaged with the Bond & Specialty Insurance process
