- Develop new APIs to enable the exchange of internal and external data
- Develop and support systems that facilitate the customer purchase journey through underwriting automation
- Product knowledge to understand the complexities of the varied business lines we serve
- Develop and maintain solid data security knowledge surrounding our systems and data
- Develop and support integrations with our third party vendor as well as our internal partners
- Perform high complexity tasks and enhancements to our existing systems as well as developing solutions around new technology
- Leverage experience and interest in utilizing new and emerging technologies to create innovative solutions that deliver business value
- Experience developing NodeJS/TypeScript
- Experience developing Java
- Experience with Spring frameworks; Spring Web Flow is nice to have
- Experience with SQL and/or other modern database solutions
- Technical aptitude to understand platform solutions and how those solutions integrate with other internal/external apps to support highly complex or customized processes
- Experience navigating complex backend integration architectures consisting of RESTful services which pull in dependencies from multiple other systems
- Comfort and ability to work in a modern product-focused development environment with experience using tools for code migration and deployment (GitHub), test driven development, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), and agile development processes
- Demonstrate a willingness to resolve or elevate issues quickly
- Desire and willingness to continuously improve those skills and knowledge through internal and external continuous learning
- 5- 10 years' experience developing with Java and JavaScript, along with a demonstrated experience onboarding to new frameworks and technologies
- Experience with Agile principles
- Experience with RESTful and SOAP based Web Services
