- We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for a 9 month contract to hire job opportunity with a leading client in Eagan, MN. In this role, the Sr. Software Engineer will bring experience in creating software in Windows, Linux, and embedded systems environments. They will designs and develop code for other integrated peripherals including medical drawer systems, power systems, lighting systems, and various sensor reporting algorithms. They will provide technical leadership in the areas of software development and software architecture. They will report on progress and participate in cross-functional design team meetings. Responsibilities:
- Create software and embedded software systems for:
- Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services
- IoT connected platform cloud systems
- Dual band Wi-Fi modules
- RS-485 communication with remote controllers
- Touchscreens and displays
- Low-level control and sensor functions
- Bootloaders and Over The Air updates
- Motor control systems
- I2C, SPI and other interprocessor communications
- External memory
- USB
- Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services
- Test and debug code issues as well as work with all members of the development team in creation of the system.
- Provide technical feedback in areas such as algorithms, system architecture, and best coding practices
- Additional duties as
- Supports "Lean Business Enterprise" initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste
- Expert Knowledge and experience with the following technologies:
- Google Cloud Platform and AWS
- C, C#
- Embedded Systems
- USB programming
- Hardware Sensor I/O
- RS-485 implementations
- IoT client implementation
- WiFi including security protocols
- GUI tools such as TouchGFX or other touchscreen implementation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Oracle and Salesforce
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering with 3 to 5 years' experience
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described for the position
