PURPOSE: The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing janitorial cleaning crews within multiple commercial buildings that are located within their assigned geographical "area" or territory. The Area Manager ensures that our service levels and performance expectations are maintained or exceeded per the agreement between the customer and our company. You will help your team members reach these standards by providing training, corrective feedback, adequate supplies and equipment, and support as needed. Other details about the position:
- Use a company vehicle for local travel within your assigned area
- Use a company cell phone for communicating while in the field
- Represent a professional image of the company to promote its goals and objectives while at a customer building or while working with team members
- Manages supplies and equipment for each building and coordinates delivery of items
- Conducts routine building audits, assessing quality, security, safety, etc.
- Takes a proactive and collaborative approach to identifying issues and mutually-acceptable solutions that meet customer requirements and company objectives
- Investigates complaints about service, conduct, or equipment and takes corrective action
- Participates in the cleaning process as needed
- Communicates and reinforces all safety programs
- Administrative tasks (supply orders, email correspondence, absence tracking, performance reviews, etc.)
SCHEDULE: Mon/Wed/Thu/Fri 4pm-2am (+OT) & Rotating On-Call Weekend Responsibilities.
PAY: $17.79/hour + Overtime + Benefits Package
Potential to earn more via rotating weekend on-call
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid drivers' license & acceptable drivers' history
- Pass criminal history background check (company and customers')
- Some leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience in the janitorial industry is preferred
- Able to read and communicate in English
- Able to engage in physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials up to 50 lbs.
- Able to tolerate repetitive motions on a daily basis, including bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, squatting, stooping, kneeling
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time to include climbing/descending stairs and ladders
- Able to operate standard janitorial equipment
- Able to work independently and in stressful situations
- Able to solve problems and make decisions
- Developed interpersonal, listening, and delegation skills
- Developed time management skills
- Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance
