SUMMARY:
Responsible for the supervision and coordination of all food production in accordance with Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures specifications and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
ï· Responsible for preparing, seasoning, finishing, and garnishing all food in kitchen preparation in accordance with established recipes.
ï· Enforce performance standards, policies and procedures as they relate to venue operations.
ï· Ensures smooth and efficient operations on a continual basis.
ï· Ensure the highest possible standard of Guest Service and Associate Relations are maintained and carried out in a fair and consistent manner.
ï· Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards/regulations as well as all applicable beverage, Tribal, Federal, State and local laws/ordinances.
ï· Assist venue Management with scheduling of Associates and ensure correct staffing levels and adjustments are made in accordance with Guest needs.
ï· Monitor the job performance of all venue Associates and provide feedback to aid the Associates in developing and enhancing their skills.
ï· Provide input to the venue manager concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of improvement.
ï· Responsible for promoting positive Guest relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service.
ï· Review, recommend and suggest to hire, suspend, transfer, promote, evaluate, discipline and terminate all service Associates in a fair and equitable manner.
ï· Responsible for listening to, evaluating and handling of Guest complaints in a way that satisfies the Guest to their satisfaction.
ï· Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws and attendant regulations as well as Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures internal controls, policies and procedures.
ï· Responsible for maintaining open communication throughout the venue, through monthly staff meetings, and daily pre-shift meetings.
ï· Any and all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
ï· Three (3) years kitchen operation experience required, including one (1) year supervisory / managerial experience or two (2) years as a Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures Line Cook.
ï· Serv-Safe Certification preferred. Certification is required within one (1) year of placement.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
ï· If required, must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.
ï· Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority, and follow all relevant DGR's.
ï· Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
ï· Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations.
ï· Must be able to read, interpret and apply instructions and technical terminology furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
ï· Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
ï· Must be able to apply commonsense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to:
ï· Talk and hear;
ï· See and adjust focus to include close, distance, color, depth, and peripheral vision;
ï· Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch and/or crawl;
ï· Handle objects, tools and controls; reach with arms and hands;
ï· Lift, push, pull and/or move objects weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly exposed to:
ï· A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).
ï· A moderate-to-loud noise level (operations areas).
ï· Second-hand cigarette/cigar smoke.
ï· Moving mechanical and/or electrical components.
ï· Chemical solutions such as cleaning and polishing compounds.
