True Friends is a nonprofit agency providing life-changing experiences that enhance independence and self-esteem for children and adults with disabilities. True Friends programs include camp, respite, therapeutic horseback riding, conference and retreat, travel, and team building; serving over 25,000 individuals annually. With location near Maple Lake, Annandale, Plymouth, Eden Prairie and Bemidji, MN, True Friends serves individuals in Minnesota and throughout the United States.
We are currently looking for individuals to fill the role of Lead Cook.
This is a summer season position (year around hours may be available) working about 40 hours a week with a flexible schedule and is not eligible for benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares meals according to menu
Maintains inventory and makes decisions regarding appropriate substitutions in the event of shortages
Supervises and provides guidance
Performs opening and/or closing duties
Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
Communicates foodservice updates and needs to Supervisor
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Required to walk, sit, stand, bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move continually during working hours
Required hear and communicate verbally
Ability to feel objects and use fingers to operate tools and controls
Work Environment:
Kitchen environment
Works both indoors and outdoors
Qualifications:
Must be able to pass an organizational background study
Previous foodservice experience desirable
Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures required
Good organization and time management skills
High school diploma preferred
Hold or be willing to acquire MN Department of Health Food Managers License
