Description:

With many years of combined energy industry experience, Utility Energy Systems, LLC (UES) offers quality solutions to the natural gas and propane industry in a responsive and cost-effective manner. UES has been in the energy business since 1994 initially as a part of a closely related company, Utility Partners, Inc. (UPI). UES was established as a separate company in 2005 and has been involved in energy projects countrywide with the majority in the North Central States.

Summary:

The Pipe Welder position will be responsible for using Stick and Mig welding techniques to weld various components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions. This individual should be familiar with and capable of using various welding equipment to weld and fit pipe. In addition, the pipe welder will perform tasks such as installing propane pipes and piping, fabricating skids and piping for the natural gas industry, and fabricating piping weldments in the shop using GMAW. When not welding, the position remains productive in various tasks both in the shop and in the field.

Responsibilities:

Cut, fit and weld parts and equipment used in the propane and natural gas industry

Perform code (ASME or API) compliant welds using GMAW and SMAW processes

Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements

Properly use fabrication shop hand tools (grinders, drills, air tools, etc.)

Understand and demonstrate a safe working knowledge of all applicable welding & cutting equipment

Exercise judgment and planning in selecting and using materials, tools, and equipment

Observe and recognize problems during the welding process and adjust as necessary

Follow all safety rules and quality standards

Follow, create, and help maintain welding procedures consistent with code

Work without supervision to complete all welding tasks on time

Maintain relationships with engineers, inspectors, and other employees to work through projects and address potential issues as they arise

Maintain safe, clean work environment and take proper care of all equipment and facility

Perform all necessary maintenance and repairs on all equipment used in welding

Minimize the wastage of materials and consumables

Perform other various duties as assigned
