Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Controller in northeast Mississippi. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team, where you will oversee the financial activities of the company and provide accurate financial information. You will be managing the accounting team and providing guidance to foreign accounting team members.Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation of financial statements such as Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow, ensuring accurate analysis and timely monthly closes. Lead weekly reporting on sales outlook, production reports, and variance analysis, identifying areas of concern and opportunity and providing recommendations for improvements. Ensure the proper functioning of the accounting system in ERP, making certain all transactions are appropriately recorded. Conduct regular analysis of the cost system, identifying opportunities for profit improvement and leading efforts to maximize results. Evaluate and record inventory valuation adjustments based on analysis of perpetual inventory system, sales price vs. cost comparisons, and manufacturing variances. Collaborate with plant and logistics teams to understand sources of variances and formulate recommendations and action plans to reduce unfavorable variances and improve financial results. Work closely with external auditors to ensure compliance and prevent errors, fraud, and omissions. Supervise accounting personnel and act as a backup for other accounting functions as internal control measures allow. Manage lender relationships, including covenant reporting and treasury functions. Oversee all tax-related activities as needed, including State, Federal, Sales and Use Taxes, and Other Tax-related items.
