Job Description
Responsible for establishing and monitoring injection molding processes, from a scientific point of view, document it, and control it. Perform sample request procedure. Assist in supervising activities of personnel as directed by the Supervisor.
- Assis with technical operations of injection molding.
- Conduct Technicians check list daily.
- Perform tooling P/M daily.
- Monitor molding process operations and adjust when necessary.
- Perform start up procedure.
- Perform sample procedure.
- Create process manuals.
- Reduce variability by ensuring equipment is run under standard operating conditions
- Supervise and assist personnel as directed by Supervisor.
- Monitor condition of equipment and tooling and notify appropriate personnel about areas that need attention
- Aid/train operators in maximizing products output while maintaining product quality by providing hands-on training and process direction to operators
- Continuously improve processes to achieve best output without compromising quality
- Follow procedures in IQMS to monitor efficiency, scrap, utilization, and schedule.
- Create work orders for all auxiliary equipment repairs.
- Understand and monitor all responsibilities of Material Handlers, Tally, Set up, and Floor relieve personnel.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma /GED
- Materials and Chemicals four year college degree preferred
- 3 years of plastic industry experience preferred
- Intermediate Reading & Writing (12th grade level)
- Ability to understand and carry out Standardized Work Instructions
- Basic math: Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s
- Intermediate math: Ratios, percentages, fractions, descriptive statistics, weights & measures, plane & 3D geometry, trigonometry, monomial algebra, SPC
- Demonstrates good judgment and decision making.
- Analyze tasks and create Standardized Work Instructions
- Complex Problem Solving; Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Systems Analysis; Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
- Ability to regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 45 pounds. If over 45 lbs., team lift is required.
- Ability to move about on the production floor for a minimal of 8 hour per shift
- Ability to grasp, push, pull and carry objects on the production floor
- Ability to manipulate and feel objects, tools, or control
- Must be able to detect and determine color accurately.
- Ability to detect objects colors and shapes
- Extent Flexibility; The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body. Occasionally must reach, climb or balance, and stoop. Extent Flexibility; The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. Occasionally must reach, climb or balance, and stoop.
- Basic computer skills - Software: Excel, Word, Outlook
