We partner internationally to deliver the services and solutions that help everyone to be more productive and enable innovation.The Product Manager for Data Platform Products will be part of the Scientific data consumption product team. The Product Manager is accountable for the ultimate success of the whole product experience including build, deployment, and user education, combined with communications, product positioning, and managing the expectations of stakeholders. In this role, they will work with other product managers, technical teams, SMEs and stakeholders.The Scientific Data Consumption Product Line (SDC) provides a combination of technology, infrastructure, software, and personnel to support large scale data engineering, data analytics and data science activities.The Product Manager needs a deep knowledge of users and the business, primarily how the business works and how it measures value. The Product Manager will drive and measure how data management products are positioned, utilized, and generate value, and what are the various costs and considerations of maintaining and supporting the products. This means understanding the priorities of various stakeholders, the dynamics of the ecosystem the products operate in, and the economics of the products.We are seeking for an individual who loves all things about data how data is ingested, processed, and made accessible for consumption. You should be curious and willing to get your hands dirty, envision tools that will allow us to scale and efficiently produce valuable platform products.You will partner very closely with the Enterprise teams, Product & Data Science teams to describe a variety of tools to ingest and build model ready datasets in a self-service environment while managing metadata via central catalogs, achieve operational excellence including support for CI/CD, manage costs while monitoring usage.Primary Tasks:Develop and maintain a high level of technical product knowledge and specific domain expertise.

Accountable for defining and driving the strategy as well as day to day execution in partnership with engineering teams.

Defines the product vision, strategy and roadmap.

Act as the product’s chief advocate within the wider company.

Partner with engineering leadership to develop execution strategy and resourcing plan.

Is a user expert and understands the reasons customers use their products.

Can justify new products or improvements to existing products in a value focused manner (e.g. Business Case, ROI etc.).

Defines what to solve by articulating the value of problems to be solved, along with priorities and justification for each part of the solution.

Gathers, manages, and prioritizes product requirements that detail user problems and needs, technical constraints and strategic objectives.

Develops positioning and communication messages for the product and influences training and other change related activities.

Acts as the customer champion articulating and advocating the user’s needs.

Make informed decisions about product tooling based on inputs from stakeholders and engineering leads.

Key Deliverables:High level product vision and OKRs.

Problem statements and requirements.

Product roadmaps.

Product comparisons, assessments and artifacts for use by a development team.

Communication materials conveying the above content.

Analysis and evidence to document and communicate the data used to make product decisions.

Marketing materials regarding the value and positioning of their product.

Value justification evidence e.g. Business case, ROI calculations, impact assessment.

Education:B.Sc. or higher in computer sciences or equivalent field.

Qualifications:Minimum 5+ years working with customers to define requirements. 3+ years articulating and building tooling to support development of data analytics products.

Prior experience working with data acquisition, data engineering and data analytics capabilities and products.

Has worked with APIs and Cloud based data platform implementations including data catalog, metadata management and data security and governance needs.

Hands-on experience or deep working knowledge with data management services such as AWS Athena, Glue, Airflow, SageMaker, S3, Redshift or similar tools & services are highly desired.

Proven experience overseeing all elements of product development lifecycle, including developing and maintaining detailed project plans from discovery/UX to delivery.

Identify and define business problems, and translate into actionable requirements and tasks.

Demonstrate analytical problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders and users.

Be able to work independently, anticipating and resolving problems.

Experience managing multiple complex experience design and development projects simultaneously.

Preferred:Experience in the sciences/pharmaceutical industry

Domain knowledge or familiarity with Machine Learning Platforms (e.g. Sagemaker and DataBricks).

Pharmaceutical drug discovery and pre-clinical development experience.

Worked in Agile software development.

Familiarity with Cloud based software and terms.
