We partner internationally to deliver the services and solutions that help everyone to be more productive and enable innovation.The Product Manager for Data Platform Products will be part of the Scientific data consumption product team. The Product Manager is accountable for the ultimate success of the whole product experience including build, deployment, and user education, combined with communications, product positioning, and managing the expectations of stakeholders. In this role, they will work with other product managers, technical teams, SMEs and stakeholders.The Scientific Data Consumption Product Line (SDC) provides a combination of technology, infrastructure, software, and personnel to support large scale data engineering, data analytics and data science activities.The Product Manager needs a deep knowledge of users and the business, primarily how the business works and how it measures value. The Product Manager will drive and measure how data analyticas platform products are positioned, utilized, and generate value, and what are the various costs and considerations of maintaining and supporting the products. This means understanding the priorities of various stakeholders, the dynamics of the ecosystem the products operate in, and the economics of the products.Product Manager Tasks: Key ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an individual who loves all things about data analytics platform. You should be curious and willing to get your hands dirty, and envision tools that will allow us to scale and efficiently produce valuable platform products.

You will partner very closely with the Enterprise teams, Product & Data Science teams to define and develop data management and data science products.

Primary Tasks:Accountable for defining and driving the strategy as well as day to day execution in collaboration with engineering teams for one or more products.

Partners with Platform Product and technical leaders to define product vision, strategy, roadmap and support creation of business cases.

Is a user expert and comprehends the reasons customers use the products.

Can justify improvements to existing products in a value-focused manner

Defines what to solve by articulating the value of problems to be solved, along with priorities and justification for each part of the solution.

Gathers, manages, and prioritizes product requirements that detail user problems and needs, technical constraints and strategic objectives.

Develops and maintains relevant technical knowledge and/or specific domain expertise pertinent to the product area or capability they are working in.

Describes what to solve by writing problem statements and requirements and facilitates the “how” with the engineering team.

May occupy the position of Product Owner on an Agile team, or work closely with one.

Planning, designing and conducting testing activities, and compiling critical content for training and communication for our users.

Process data, observations, information and other research into insights that will help inform product strategy and decisions

Make informed decisions about product tooling based on inputs from stakeholders and engineering leads.

Define, groom the product backlog and create actionable user stories for the development teams

Groom and prioritize the work in the backlog.

Accept the completed user stories to make sure the work fulfills the criteria.

Develops positioning and communication messages for the product and influences training and other change related activities.

Act as the product’s chief advocate within the wider company.

Acts as the customer champion articulating and advocating the user’s needs

User Acceptance Test (UAT) scripts reflecting the critical components that require testing for each release

Training materials, to ensure user success with the product

Education:B.Sc. or higher in computer sciences or an equivalent field

Qualifications:Minimum 3+ years working with customers to define requirements, preferably analytics products.

2+ years articulating and building tooling to support the development of data analytics products

Prior experience with data analytics or data science capabilities.

Has worked with APIs, Cloud-based data analytics or machine learning platform.

Has used data catalog, metadata management and data security products.

Hands-on experience or deep working knowledge with data management services such as AWS Athena, Glue, Airflow, SageMaker, S3, Redshift or similar tools & services are highly desired.

Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle, including developing and maintaining detailed project plans from discovery/UX to delivery

Identify and define business problems, and translate them into actionable requirements and tasks

Demonstrate analytical problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders and users

Be able to work independently, anticipating and resolving problems

Experience managing multiple complex experience design and development projects simultaneously

Preferred:Domain knowledge or familiarity with Machine Learning Platforms (e.g. Sagemaker and DataBricks)

Pharmaceutical drug discovery and pre-clinical development experience

Has worked in Agile software development

Familiarity with Cloud-based software and terms
