Leading Web Services and E-Commerce company seeking a full-time Web UI/UX Designer to complement our team in Jackson, Mississippi.

NIC Mississippi helps Mississippi government entities Web-enable their information services. Our electronic government solutions use technology to increase efficiency and reduce costs for governments and their constituents.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our team as a Web UI/UX Designer.

This position will oversee the design of new leading-edge Web/mobile/e-commerce applications and services. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team of highly versatile and talented project managers and developers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design wireframes/mockups for client review while bringing your expertise and consulting in design principles and UX approaches/methodologies
  • Code front-end of websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Constructs application pages using current Web languages and techniques
  • and ensures that pages are standards compliant (i.e., W3C), universally
  • accessible (i.e., Section 508, W.C.A.G.) and validate to cross-browser
  • compatibility
  • Maintain compliance of Federal and State accessibility guidelines
  • Design for Mobile first and test cross-browser/platform/device compatibility
  • Keep abreast of latest technologies and best practices and present findings to
  • technical team
  • Communicate timing needs and estimates with Project Managers and team
  • Participate in project evaluations, meetings, and other activities where
  • needed
  • Provide exceptional communication, customer service, and presentation skills
  • to lead trainings with clients on the CMS platform

Required Skills:

  • Ability to hand-code HTML, CSS, and JavaScript at an expert level
  • Strong understanding of design tools (Sketch App, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Strong understanding of Responsive Design principles using Drupal CMS,
  • HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery and common contributor modules
  • Strong skills in Drupal 8, Drupal 9, and PHP
  • Custom Drupal module development
  • Experience with print and marketing design is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Drupal, WordPress, or other Web Content Management Systems is a plus
  • Web performance and optimization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Source code repository (Git Hub, TFS, etc.)
