According to AdWeek, revenue from email marketing has increased by 87 percent and is expected to continue this upward trajectory due to COVID-19. As a result, we've received a surge of requests for email marketing services and are in need of a crafty writer who specializes in writing to African-American audiences.
A candidate in this role will be responsible for the following:
>Providing copy for marketing emails promoting products and services to African-American audiences (e.g. urban, educated, spiritual, etc.). This responsibility accounts for 75 percent of the overall role of this position.
>Providing copy for social media posts. This responsibility accounts for 15 percent of the overall role of this position.
>Meeting with the owner of the company to discuss customer feedback and assure submitted work aligns with the overall goal of the project. This responsibility accounts for 10 percent of the overall role of this position.
Here's what we're looking for in an ideal candidate:
>You're a "grammar geek" whose teeth cringe whenever a sentence is poorly written or a word is misspelled.
>You understand the importance of tone and know and understand the nuances of communicating with African-American audiences.
>You love to write and dream of turning your passion into a source of income.
>You're open to constructive feedback and value opportunities to learn from others.
>You're an avid reader who would prefer to pick up a book or magazine as opposed to watching a movie.
>You have stable WiFi connection and are familiar with Zoom and Google Docs.
Demand is high and emails need to be written, so we are seeking to hire someone who requires minimal training and is able to hit the ground running as soon as possible.
This is a part-time, contract role with up to 20 hours of work per week for up to four months.
