Job Description:

Scope of Work/Job DutiesThe scope of work/job duties for this position will include:
  • Creating cross-platform applications for proof of concept, testing and production;
  • Conducting project assignments, research, and analysis;
  • Integrating data into existing data structure;
  • Maintaining accuracy and integrity of data;
  • Applying technical knowledge to departmental projects;
  • Preparing written reports, communication, or correspondence on behalf of the
department;
  • Presenting formal/informal updates on project status; and,
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Office Director.

Minimum QualificationsThe minimum qualifications the MDMR is seeking for the position include:
  • Education: Must possess or be pursuing a degree in computer science, programming,
engineering, or GIS related field. As part of the application, please provide a copy of yourtranscript (unofficial copy is acceptable).
  • Experience: Please include any training or skills related to this position in your
application.
  • Other: Must possess a valid driver’s license (Mississippi residents must have a Mississippi
driver’s license). MDMR will verify the driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe ideal candidate should have a general knowledge of managing and processing data. Thecandidate should have good communication and organizational skills. Preferred exposure orinterest in the following:
  • One or more modern languages such as Dart, Python, C#, JavaScript, and Java;
  • Various native and cross-platform mobile development toolsets and platforms for iOS and
Android, such as Flutter, XCode, Android Studio, and .NET Maui;
  • Modern full stack technologies for web and mobile development;
  • Enterprise cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and AWS;
  • Version control platforms such as GitHub;
  • 3D modeling and digital twin platforms such as Blender, Unity, and Unreal;
  • Publishing applications to the Google and Apple app stores;
  • ESRI ArcGIS suite of software products 10.x.; and,
  • Hands on experience with text files, Excel, and databases.
