Position DescriptionMarine Engineer for Ship Construction- 47749If you love high-profile and challenging programing projects supporting the US Navy- Serco has a great opportunity for you! The Marine Engineer will support US Navy shipbuilding oversight efforts in Pascagoula, MS. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors.The successful candidate will be integrated into the program management team overseeing the construction of the newest US Navy ships and assist with the tracking and reporting of discrepancies found during the construction and testing of the ships.In this role, you will:Monitor the production efforts of your assigned ship reporting physical progress and any disruptions to ship completion

Inspect ship during construction to ensure specifications and requirements are being met, and documenting any deficiencies

Develop technical instructions and inspection guides to support review of assigned ships systems

Develop and recommend solutions to Navy to correct engineering issues and processes to improve ship construction efforts in terms of cost, schedule, and quality

Investigate areas of production concern, report findings and help develop solutions to help ship return to plan

Track and monitor installation of equipment and incorporation of changes

Provide information and help develop reports for the program

Analyze data to identify trends and potential problems to the program

Other duties as assigned

QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will have:A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar. Additional relevant experience can be considered to offset degree requirements

A current or active Secret Clearance.

Requires 0 to 2 years’ relevant experience.

Experience in ship construction techniques and methods

Expertise with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other office tools

Knowledge of engineering analysis techniques.
