Description SAIC has an immediate opportunity for a COMSEC Account Manager and Systems Administrator to support the NASA Integrated Communications Services (NICS) contract at NASA's Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The NICS contract provides high quality integrated communications services for secure voice, video and data solutions and services to NASA customers worldwide. Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
  • Provide timely response and support during scheduled and authorized non-business hours to ensure continuity of services to the network environment.
  • Perform system monitoring and maintenance including configuration & security management, patching, automation, hardening and system upgrades.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual operational maintenance, support, and software upgrades for Windows Server, Linux servers, and Windows 10 workstations.
  • Work with the IA team on security vulnerability and compliance scanning of the system servers and workstations as required under a DoD Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Work with the IA team to maintain a Risk Management Framework (RMF) posture and participate in the RMF activities required to achieve and maintain an ATO.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
  • Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources
  • Conduct COMSEC inspections and inventories.
  • Responsible for operations, applications, and maintenance of the COMSEC Account and perform all functions of classified COMSEC material control in accordance with Government security directives for the receipt, custody, issuance, safeguarding, accounting, and destruction of COMSEC software and hardware at SSC.
  • Maintain COMSEC account records and submit required accounting reports to appropriate Government agency as established in NASA guidelines and COMSEC SOPs.
  • Maintain accountability of the location and identity of COMSEC items in the account and the purpose for which each item is being used.
  • Maintain currency and proficiency of National COMSEC policies and secure telecommunications equipment.
  • Ship classified COMSEC hardware and Cryptographic Keys via the Defense Courier Service (DCS) and ensure compliance with contract delivery schedules and security safeguarding requirements.
  • Act as the Government representative during recurring NASA COMSEC account security inspections and be responsible for conducting corrective actions and report documentation related to the inspection.
  • Train COMSEC users, provide briefings, and maintain documentation.
  • Implement and maintain the COMSEC account in accordance with NASA COMSEC SOPs
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and six (6) years or more related experience. Master's degree in a related field and four (4) or more years related experience. Experience may be used in lieu of degree.
Required Skills:
  • Secret clearance required
  • Technical working knowledge of Secure Terminal Equipment (STE) and vIPer, Network Encryption Systems, and Data Terminal Devices (DTD).
  • Experience with NSA Type 1 Cryptographic devices, keys, and loaders.
  • 2 years' experience in Windows server and workstation system administration including Windows Server 2016/2019 and Windows 10.
  • Experience in the interpretation of IA vulnerability and compliance and scan reports and the implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to remove vulnerabilities for IA compliance.
  • Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and compliance with an Authority to Operate (ATO)
  • Experience in server architectures, storage architectures, virtualization, monitoring tools, backup/restore, performance tuning/capacity planning, documentation, server management

    • National Industrial Security Program
    • NASA Security Program Procedural NPR 1600.1
    • NASA Policies and Guidance Documents
  • Familiar with Distributed Information Security (INFOSEC) Accounting System (DIAS).
  • CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification.
