TRI GSM Mission:

The government is seeking innovative and proactive solutions to increase efficiency, speed to implementation, and decreased costs, as well as predictive and nimble solutions that enable increased speed of service and enhanced customer experiences while supporting DoD and non-DoD customers that consume services from the DODIN.

Assists in the design of and develops basic integrated solutions through tools, processes, and procedures to facilitate the cost-effective delivery of services or fielding of successful products. Works as a team member on specific projects to perform basic testing and integration, development, system engineering, documentation, and related engineering tasks. Essential job functions may include, but not be limited to assisting in the design of integrated solutions in accordance with established standards and policies; assisting in the analysis and resolution of basic program support deficiencies; implementing processes and procedures to ensure compliance with standard business practices; implementing training tools and documentation,; providing basic technical consultation on current and proposed systems to customers and colleagues; and performing installation and upgrades of existing systems using solutions in accordance with standard operating procedures.[PT1]

Responsibilities

The DISN Engineer will support the project team by helping gather/interpret information from sites and by developing associated engineering designs and implementation plans.

The DISN Engineer will evaluate results of, and may participate in, site surveys, to
  • Determine the specific equipment and materials required to complete the implementation(s)
  • Identify required site preparation work (e.g. power upgrades)
  • Confirm overall site suitability as a project site.
The DISN Engineer shall have experience in performing and interpreting the results of site surveys, including familiarity with:
  • legacy IT equipment and configurations
  • Equipment rack specifications and elevations
  • Cabling standards
  • Grounding/power considerations
  • Logistical information (e.g., staging areas, access controls, security, applicable code)
  • Supporting documentation that enables development of a site engineering solution, site implementation plan, and complete materials list (MBOM and IBOM).
The DISN Engineer will support the team in circuit planning, engineering, configuration management Engineering Change request processing, and documentation l.

The DISN Engineer will support the writing of the Site Survey Report, Site Engineering Solution, Site Implementation Plan, Site Concurrence Letter, and Bills of Material.

The DISN Engineer will support installation and testing activities for each site. This includes support of the actions required to deliver a complete, active, and operational service in both classified and unclassified environments, and ensuring work is completed in accordance with technical implementation standards. The DISN Engineer shall support development and execution of installation plans to ensure a successful implementation.
