Find your future with us.Boeing Phantom Works Fixed Wing is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join a diverse Systems Engineering & Integration Team (SEIT) to accomplish Systems Architecture & Design on an advanced proprietary development program in (St. Louis Metropolitan area) Berkley, MO. The selected engineer will work within the SEIT to partner with Air Vehicle and Mission Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) engineers to develop a sophisticated and highly integrated system while embracing the program’s Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering strategy. The program is a key part of Boeing's future and this team is paving the way for how future Boeing programs will operate by integrating groundbreaking systems, processes, and tools into product design and lifecycle management. Use Systems Engineering experience to shape, implement, maintain, and refine the systems engineering approach

Lead the program in implementing MBSE as part of digital engineering to meet customer expectations

Support planning and execution of multi-functional program configuration and data management processes

Lead Systems Engineering efforts such as requirements decomposition, system architecture, environments analysis, specification development, trade studies, program planning, interfaces management, risk management, certification planning & execution, verification & test planning, and overall integration

Support execution of Phantom Works systems engineering initiatives and advocate for program needs in planning

Guide the integration of systems engineering, particularly MBSE, into the Digital Engineering Ecosystem to establish digital models as an integral part of the technical baseline.

Lead interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to plan, design, develop and verify complex systems solutions

Establish, maintain, and demonstrate traceability between the requirements, analysis, and design being developed in the Digital Systems Models within the DE Ecosystem

Lead and plan Internal Research and Development (IRAD) efforts within Phantom Works

Identify and manage program technical metrics

Lead systems engineering support for proposal efforts

Serve as a Technical Lead Engineer through guiding and coaching less experienced systems engineers

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret clearance post start is required.This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

A minimum of 9 years of engineering work experience or equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience).

5+ years of systems engineering experience involving system architecture development, including system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis, and verification.

Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, such as CAMEO or similar Systems Modeling Language (SysML)-compatible tool for systems architecture and model development.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):Breadth of experience across technical domains and life cycle phases

Experience with air vehicle, subsystems or mission systems development efforts

Experience developing and documenting architecture modeling techniques and best practices (e.g. Writing or contributing to MBSE Style Guides)

Experience with Weapons Open Systems Architecture (WOSA), Open Mission Systems (OMS), and/or Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI)

Experience leading cross-IPT architecture development

Experience developing model or documentation deliverables for customers

Experience collaborating with and integrating contributions from multiple industry partners and/or suppliers

Experience providing systems engineering content for proposal efforts

Typical Education & Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
