Work within the projects teams to determine and execute project controlling practices and workflows for project delivery.
Typical project controlling tasks are:Budget and estimate engineering and construction projects
Spending planning, project accounting, cost forecasting, and reporting
Scheduling, (resource) planning, progress monitoring, monitoring of resource utilization, forecasting, and reporting
Contribution to procurement planning and contract management
Facilitation of project risk management
Leads communication of project controls outputs (project plans, progress, forecasts, decision scenarios) to all project stakeholders, including project managers and steering committees
In matrix organizations for strategic projects, the Senior Project Controller supervises and coordinates Project Controls Specialists as well as Schedulers and Estimators, both from internal and external parties (contingent workforce, contractors (e.g. EPC, EPCM))
Supports the project controls and estimating and scheduling procedures in the continuous improvement of the regional project controlling framework
Primary Responsibilities:Field experience for capital projects
Interface with engineering and construction contractors to validate cost estimates
Analyze project events so as to accurately depict project status and schedule trends throughout the entire project cycle
Continuous oversight of project costs so as to provide early indication of potential deviations as well as to recommend corrective actions to project teams
Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management
5-10 years of experience in project controls / project management or related engineering experience
Experience with project management software, such as Primavera P6, MS Project, as well as enterprise cost management tools, such as SAP
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (EXCEL, WORD, POWER POINT)
Knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction, and understanding of how these functions work together to meet project objectives
Experience in project management techniques – for example: earned value analysis, critical path scheduling methods
Good knowledge of risk assessment tools and techniques
Experience in developing project-specific planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting aids in– for example – Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
High degree of interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders, to resolve conflicts in a constructive spirit, and to communicate requirements and results to project contributors effectively
