Job Description

Join the Cerner ITWorks team onsite at Tiger Institute-Columbia working in partnership for the continuous improvement of healthcare for the Columbia, MO area. As a Data Analyst at the Tiger Institute, you will have the primary responsibility to analyze, prepare, and process data sets to be consumed for direct insights, statistical modeling, or other analytical exploration utilizing the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Business Intelligence tools. You will be aligned with the Information Management and Population Health Client Services team to leverage its business intelligence resources to support population health and analytics initiatives at MU Health Care. You will represent a unique opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform data and complete analyses to solve business problems. This includes gathering business requirements from end-users, developing data sets, and performing pertinent analyses.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of total combined related work experience and completed higher education including:
  • At least 1 year of data analytics and/or statistics work experience, including experience in quantitative or statistical analysis, data mining, predictive or statistical modeling, applied programming, data management, data transformation, data visualization and/or quantitative or statistical research, or successful completion of Cerner's Analytics Learning Lab
  • At least 4 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education including:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Analytics, or related field; or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 1 year of course work and/or work experience in SQL programming and/or report building

Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in healthcare, sciences, or information systems
  • Experience with Data Warehousing and ETL concepts
  • Experience with SAP Business Objects, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, IBM Cognos, or other reporting and visualization development tools
  • Basic CCL skills

Expectations
  • Must live in or around the Columbia, Missouri area
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
