Job Summary

WWT Application Services division is looking for a Test Automation QA Technical Mentor to join our growing Software Consulting Services group. The primary purpose of this role is to provide senior leadership to one or more test automation engagements with WWT clients. The right individual brings extensive consulting leadership, a quality advocacy mindset, and software test automation experience in diverse environments, thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, and is committed to helping build a great place to work.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions/Competencies

This role will report to the Practice Manager, Software Craftsmanship and collaborate to achieve the following:
  • Contribute to the maturation of the test automation service offering, including execution playbooks and pre-sales marketing material
  • Provide mentoring for members of the test automation service offering
  • Expertise in leading edge test automation techniques
  • Act as a trusted advisor to our customers, sales team, and Application Services Leadership
  • Mentor and teach quality practices at the organization, team and team member level especially as it relates to automated testing
  • Demonstrate the role of the quality advocate in creating user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Work with other technical mentors and agile coaches to collaborate on maturing the team and organization agile practices
  • Assess and report outcomes to customers and management team to demonstrate progress and receive feedback on future strategies
  • Collaborate with account managers, practice leaders and sales engineers to identify business development opportunities and craft sales proposals through solution analysis, estimation, contract review, and staffing.
  • Build strategic consulting relationships with client leadership and executives.

Qualifications

Education

A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required.

Work Experience
  • Extensive (8+ years) of quality assurance and/or quality engineering.
  • 5+ years of hands-on test automation
  • 3+ years of recent experience working as a consultant or leading consulting projects
  • 3+ years of pre-sales support, including SOW creation

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding and knowledge of quality assurance processes and methods used in software development

• Team orientation and strong interpersonal communication skills

• Strong desire to learn and self-motivation in pursuit of new skills and understanding of software design and quality engineering

• Comfortable with different platforms such as; web, mobile apps, and backend API

• Knowledge of and ability to apply the concept of the test pyramid

• Experience using technologies for detecting and tracking software defects

• Strong experience in agile principles and technical best practices

• Strong automated testing skills

• Working knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Development

• Ability to assess and coach team to optimal agility

• Dynamic personality and excellent soft skills

• Team oriented and possess strong interpersonal communication skills

• Comfortable working in a variety of social and business environments and multiple technology stacks

The following knowledge skills and attributes are preferred:

• Uses of vendor tool types i.e. test management, UI automation, black, grey, white box automation tools

• Some experience with a programming language (C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Swift, etc.), along with ancillary technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, SQL, Agile methodologies, load testing tools, Git, Postman, Chrome Dev Tools, Fiddler, Casper, Gremlins, Ava, JMeter, Gatling, Artillery, Funkload, Restlet Client, and others)

• Experience testing native mobile applications on Android or iOS

• Working knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as Junit and NUnit

• Automated testing frameworks such as Webdriver, Eggplant, Espresso, Capybara, Nightmare, and Jest

• Practical application of agile methodologies including Lean, Scrum and XP

• Experience with multiple platform environments, including UNIX/Linux and Windows Server

Working conditions

• Up to 75% travel to support clients across North America.
