This individual shall function effectively with very little supervision while maintaining a high professional standard. They are assigned to extremely complex and/or high-risk projects that reflect the highest priorities of state government. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, Maintain, Coordinate, Align, and Report on the Project Management Plans Coordinate, Align and Manage the Overall Project Work Plan Develop, Review, Comment, and Report on Project Artifacts The Contractor is expected to provide a high level of engagement throughout the project from start to finish; be proactive, not passive or reactive; actively help identify and track risks and issues, recommend and implement actions to mitigate risks and issues, not just report on problems Fully engage in early project stages of each project for advising, planning, and assisting in a cohesive implementation consistent with the strategic vision Provide regular planning and activity tracking across projects applying corrective/preventative actions as needed to stay on schedule; and assist with the testing planning, review, environment preparations, and oversight throughout the project life cycle. Daily interaction with State Public Health Laboratory (SPHL) Informatics Unit team and additional lab staff when needed. Act as the single POC for all SPHL ITSD needs related to networking, server support, system updates, data exchange, and more as needed. Provide technical guidance on future laboratory informatics needs Collaborate with SPHL and associated vendors on contract development, renewals, amendments, and Project Assessment Quotations (PAQs) Strong writing skills and experience in developing a variety of written products. Proven customer management skills. Required Skills:

  • At least 9 years of experience in the role of Project Manager. (9 years)
  • Full project management of various specific work stream initiatives including planning, tracking, managing, collaborating, and coordinating the execution of initiatives (5 years)
  • Working to create a positive and productive environment for all project team members and stakeholders that values cooperation, teamwork, and planning; ensuring effective and timely communications and sharing of information; (5 years)
  • Managing project schedules and provide accurate timelines; (5 years)
  • Identification, communication, and management of project risks and issues; (5 years)
  • Assessing and analyzing project health; (5 years)
  • Preparing project status reports (5 years)
Preferred Skills:
  • Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred (5 years)
  • Laboratory experience preferred (5 years)
