Job Description
As a System Engineer II, you will provide system implementation, support, monitoring, and maintenance of Cerner's solutions and services. You will perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability as well as perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware/OS upgrades, and resource optimization. You will also be responsible for implementing and monitoring applications and servers, respond to alarms in a timely manner to prevent client impact and performance degradation. As a member of this team, you will manage changes and project activities while communicating with impacted stakeholders and includes developing and deploying automation tools to optimize daily activities as well as complete assigned incident management tasks. In addition, you will deploy, setup, as well as maintain testing environment as well as be responsible for providing tier III and other support per service requests. Working Environment Onsite: No Relocation Assistance Offered This position offers an Onsite working environment. Meaning you will primarily work in a Cerner office or client site. If your current geographical location requires relocating, Cerner will not offer relocation assistance to the specified location. #LI-OnsiteQualifications Basic Qualifications- At least 6 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
- At least 1 year system administration and/or system engineering work experience
- At least 5 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education, including:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
- May be required to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network equipment
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
- Willing to travel up to 80% as needed
- Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
- Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
