This position will provide engineering and construction related planning, design, analysis, oversight and studies for tunnels and other Heavy Civil projects. Functions as technical specialist supporting project and pursuit teams on Heavy Civil projects. Anchor project may include the Horizon Lateral Project for the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA). SNWA’s Horizon Lateral Project is an essential component to delivering a reliable water source to the Valley and includes design and construction of large-diameter steel pipe (120-inch to 72-inch), hard and soft ground tunnels, pump stations, buried reservoirs, rate of flow control structures, valve vaults and other appurtenances. This program is in the Preliminary Design phase and will be advancing to final design in late 2022/early 2023. The interchange of ideas from a diverse group of people gives our teams an expanded perspective and the ability to find better solutions for our clients. #LI-AT1Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Responsibilities: Support geotechnical and Heavy Civil Business Solution projects including Tunnels, Dams, and Buried Infrastructure. Perform and coordinate geotechnical field investigations - may require up to 50% field work. Prepare design materials for basic design assignments. This includes analysis, design calculations, equipment research, sketches, etc., required to prepare documents, specifications drawings or to meet other project requirements. Prepare design sketches for drafting and incorporation into design criteria. Review manufacturer's drawings with respect to B&V design criteria. Develop preliminary layouts and other plans. Coordinate design with other personnel working on same project to minimize design conflicts. Develop and implement data management systems for dam-related investigations, construction materials testing, and safety inspections. Develop alternate methods, techniques or design concepts as required to resolve unique design problems.Preferred QualificationsLearning on the Fly

Minimum QualificationsRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
