What you'll do

H&R Block is seeking an energetic Network Engineer in the Kansas City area. This role will be responsible for providing Tier 2 support for the Enterprise wide network and associated communication systems. This includes cloud connectivity, routers, switches, VPN, wireless and remote access services, load balancers and associated management tools.

Job Duties:• Data network installation, deployment, and maintenance.• Tier 2 support for network-based issues and maintenance windows.• Participate in product evaluation, selection, and deployment of emerging technologies.• Support Sr. Engineers in managing corporate IT infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPN's, network security, wireless access, and VoIP telephony.• Manage partner network VPNs and other external sourced connectivity.• Create and maintain technical documentation and standard process documents for network infrastructure.• Routinely monitor system capacity and health, including acknowledgement and resolution of any alerts• Participate in on-call rotations, including weekend and off-hour response

It would be even better if you also had• Cisco Certifications (CCNA or above) a plus• Experience with F5 load balancers and APM• Experience with Cisco ISE• Experience with Windows, Linux and VMWare ESX

What you'll bring to the team• An associate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT Management or equivalent through a combination of education and work experience• 2-5 years related experience• Analytical troubleshooting skills• Experience with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst devices • Experience in routing and switching technologies including but not limited to BGP, OSPF, and MPLS• Experience with datacenter operations, including cabling, racking new equipment and ensuring environmental, electrical and other facility-based requirements are met• Experience with wireless infrastructure• Experience with cloud providers and cloud-based network services (Azure and AWS)• Experience with SDWAN • Experience with automation platforms (Chef/Ansible) or Scripting languages (Python)• Working knowledge of network services, security and firewall concepts (hardware - TLS Certificates, ASA, Proxy, ISE, F5 Big IP, DNS• Working knowledge of enterprise management/monitoring applications such as SolarWinds and Netscout (nGenius Performance Manager)• Strong self-management skills including, organization, time management and prioritization• Ability to prioritize rapidly shifting priorities and workloads• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and customer service skills
