Overview: The Senior Cloud Engineer works as a member of a team of Cloud Architects and engineers that plan, design, implement and support the integration and requirements of a large mission critical Cloud/Office 365 deployment. They also act as architects for non-technical people, gathering requirements, and turning them into working systems and services. The Senior Cloud Engineer is able to initiate projects and provide direction to leadership on technical matters. Identifies what needs to be done and acts before being asked to or required by the situation. The Senior Cloud Engineer creates and implements Cloud based infrastructure systems and services, and provides top-tier support.
Responsibilities:- Translate complex real world business requirements into functional, stable, and secure cloud based technical solutions. Work with different Information Systems Technology teams to develop design specifications and create technical documents for large and complex projects. Interpret complex systems design specifications, develop implementation plans and deploy complex multi tiered cloud based applications, systems and infrastructure.
- Perform assessments of complex multi-tiered technology systems implementations. Asses adherence to given design criteria, policy, regulatory, security, and/or other governance requirements. Monitor and document deviations from requirements. Participate in rigorous change management process to remediate and communicate changes to current state.
- Manages the overall health and performance of a large mission critical Cloud deployment. Configure, maintain and monitor mission critical business and healthcare applications; utilize tools, techniques, and experience to resolve performance issues with prompt, complete, and courteous service.
- Utilize modern programming and scripting languages to automate repetitive tasks, implement self healing monitoring solutions, and participate in agile development efforts as opportunities present themselves.
- Analyze system event logs, performance data, analytic information to asses critical system/application down events. Quickly assess system and applications event, perform root cause analysis, prepare and present solutions under stressful conditions and time constraints.
- Perform day to day administrative functions across Azure and the suite of Office 365 applications. Act as 2nd and 3rd tier technical support supporting staff with issues related to sue of and access to cloud resources. Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years experience Working as a top level engineer in a large mission critical Cloud deployment
- OR HS diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years experience
- Experience deploying regulatory and security governance using Azure policy and blueprinting tools
- Must have advance use of/experience deploying IAC using Terraform
- 3-5 years experience deploying infrastructure as code using JSON/YAML
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Preferred
