Our team is made up of engineers with varying levels of professional experience and backgrounds, from new graduates to 20-year veterans of the healthcare industry. We are looking for creative engineers and technologists: relevant industry experience is important, but less so than your demonstrated abilities, passion, and attitude. We're always improving, and we are looking for individuals that enjoy being challenged and have a strong desire to make our platform the best in the industry.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will use a variety of technologies to help build analytic solutions for our customers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Help shape the technical direction of our new cloud-native Reporting and Analytics platform
  • Build a reliable and scalable Single Source Of Truth (SSOT) data environment for internal and external reporting and analytics
  • Partner with data analysts and other data engineers to translate business requirements into designs for scalable data pipelines with measurable transformation quality
  • Develop and automate large-scale, high-performance data solutions that ensure reliability, meet critical business requirements, and satisfy SLAs
  • Build, maintain, and monitor optimized and highly-available data pipelines for near-real-time data replication and transformation between databases
  • Develop and maintain multi-layer OLAP data warehouse including raw, cleaned, and business-ready data
  • Organize and maintain documentation for ETL pipelines and other data-related processes
  • Work proactively as a self-starter with minimal supervision
  • Possible future growth - work with data analysts/scientists to develop and implement data products that include machine learning models or other forms of advanced analytics

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Analytics, or related technical field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years' of experience in a data engineering role in a fast-paced environment and complex business setting
  • 5+ years' of experience with relational databases in various environments (Snowflake, Databricks, Postgres, YugaByte, etc.)
  • 3+ years' experience with advanced SQL, SQL performance tuning in OLAP databases, and Data Warehouse/Data Lake environments
  • 3+ years' experience building ETL data pipelines using a tool such as Talend, IBM IIDR, Informatica, or Data Bricks
  • Solid programming foundation and proficiency with common data analytics languages such as Python or R
  • Experience with reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI software
  • Familiarity with DevOps workflows and tools like GitHub
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with "change data capture" replication tools such as Talend or IBM IIDR
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
  • Experience with a variety of big data or NoSQL database technologies
  • Experience working with and maintaining systems utilizing open-source software
  • Experience with data modeling and design
  • Desire to participate in building a new reporting & analytics system from the ground up
  • Desire to embrace and lead change within the organization
