Unlock your potential here!About this unit:Working in the Laboratory at Research Medical Center provides complex work and the opportunity to see and learn from everything that occurs in a Trauma 1 Hospital.

The RMC Laboratory staff prides it's self on being top-notch professionals who are constantly learning from the technically challenging work they do.
Responsibilities:Under the direct supervision of the AP Section Manager/Lead Tech performs pre- and post-analytic testing responsibilities including:Clerical duties and data entry/retrieval/storage accessions and prepares fresh tissue specimens for pathologist examination in Gross Dissection area
Performs analytic processes to include H&E/Pap/Group I staining, cover slipping, and associated quality control/maintenance/troubleshooting procedures
Operates, maintains, and performs quality control procedures on tissue processor, cryostat, slide stainer, and cover slipper
Prepares cytology cell blocks
Assists pathologists with frozen sections, fine needle aspiration, and bone marrow collection.
Compiles slides and paperwork and distributes to the appropriate facility and pathologist.
Maintains a safe work area
Demonstrates professional work habits and interpersonal skills.
What Qualifications You Will Need:Four years’ experience in medical laboratory (excludes phlebotomy)OR
Two years college coursework in biological/chemical science 2 years’ experience in medical laboratoryOR
Four years college course work in biological/chemical sciences
