The Director, CRM is responsible for defining consumer contact strategies, across retention and acquisition, that target and influence customer journeys across our direct to consumer channels (Direct Mail, Calling, Email and SMS.) This role owns the development of an integrated customer dialogue and relationship stream across channels that aids moving consumers from interest to conversion. You'll design and build contact plans, develop measurement frameworks with a focus on testing and learning and the goal of continuously improving performance across direct channels. This leader will work closely with executives within Marketing to insure linkage between direct strategies and other marketing channels to help ensure a consistent brand message to our consumers. They will foster a collaborative team environment that excels at communicating and educating others on the success and impact of their marketing efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Planning & Direction
  • Lead efforts to define and deliver retention and acquisition consumer contact strategies that target and influence customer journeys using our direct to consumer contact channels (Direct Mail, Calling, Email and SMS).
  • Improve client retention, client recapture of lapsed and acquisition of new clients across relevant lines of business.
  • Work with agency partners, marketing planning, marketing analytics and product teams to ensure marketing channel efforts align with the business goals and objectives.
  • Serve as the channel visionary and owner for direct to consumer marketing, establishing and educating others on best practices, key channel disciplines from a consumer's perspective and creative opportunities to engage with customers.
  • Work closely with the Data Strategy and Marketing Analytics team on data leverage and optimal segmentation strategies within channel plans and campaign development and execution.
  • Partner with Marketing Reporting to create channel performance reports as needed for marketing and company leadership.
2. Resource Management
  • Set vision and establish priorities to deliver on marketing objectives and defined goal by creating a mindset to deliver continual improvement in utilization of data, client segmentation, and campaign management process improvement.
  • Provide leadership and ongoing status updates. Collaborate across departments on projects.
  • Evaluate staffing needs and assign programs, product enhancements, and additional service opportunities and pilots based on workload, timeline, and priorities. Monitor department productivity and provide team with direction and provide regular performance feedback.
  • Direct development and execution of new systems and processes to improve go-to-market efficiency.
3. Financial/Budget Management
  • Accountable for developing and managing the multi-million-dollar direct channel budget and coordinating vendor and agency contracts, invoicing, cost monitoring and management.
  • Work closely with Finance of forecasts and budget management and operational plans.
4. Operations/Project Management
  • Participate in the program planning process with other members of Marketing leadership and affected external partners.
  • Help shape marketing Strategic plans and how each channel will bring the strategy to life.
  • Monitor operational and/or project schedules to ensure that work is on track for timely completion with high quality.
  • Ensure external partner and vendor coordination for processes or projects.
  • Inform leadership and executives within various business units of schedules and other pertinent operational details.

  • At least 8 years of marketing strategy or marketing consulting experience.
  • Experience and success in consumer-led strategic thinking. Ability to derive insights that drive action, from large data sets and qualitative findings.
  • Cross-functional agility and experience activating change in an organization by advocating with data, channel performance and passion across diverse teams.
  • Highly effective people leader and collaborative colleague in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Problem-solving ability with emphasis on drawing inferences with data.
  • Demonstrated leadership with strong presentation skills and ability to influence a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience and knowledge of schedules, tight deadlines, and competitive demands.
  • Experience managing multiple agencies, data platforms, technology vendors and network relationships.
