This position will be in Kansas City, MO Summary: This position performs a variety of moderately complex engineering support assignments requiring knowledge of manufacturing, business, and project management processes This position requires the ability to work with minimal supervision or engineering oversight on a moderate level of engineering support tasks

Prepares draft updates and/or maintenance to existing MES factory instructions. Including changes to and the addition or deletion of operations from the instructions for concurrence by the Process Engineers

Draft new MES routings with minimal assistance from Process Engineers. Adhere to factory instruction standards as defined in Command Media. Review with other parties such as Production Control, Quality Engineering, Inspection, Product Engineering and Operations before final release to minimize subsequent changes. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to work instructions

Reviews design definitions for consistency and administrative accuracy. Suggests improvement for function, manufacturability, and cost. Facilitates reviews by process and quality engineering.

Create draft production or inspection tool orders for engineering concurrence and follow up on the procurement process and schedules

Perform capital equipment inventory and need assessment required by accounting and others and provides suggestions for improved equipment utilization

Assist project managers with the facilitation and preparation of paperwork and reports suggesting cost management, generation of Cost Price Estimates (CPEs), risk assessments, and tracking against cost and schedule requirements

Review, suggest improvement opportunities for, and update departmental JHAs

Review and revise related manufacturing, process or inspection documents

Add, revise and work with the Addendum Index as necessary or directed

Prepare and assist in the delivery of training and documentation of shop floor

YOU MUST HAVEU.S. citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy Q-level security clearance

Two or more years’ experience in a similar position working in an engineering or manufacturing environment

Experience required in engineering related administrative/technical support such as configuration management, financial reporting, product testing procedures & data entry

The successful candidate must demonstrate intermediate decision making, organization & problem solving

In some areas two or more years’ experience in interpreting design definitions and translating into manufacturing processes may be required

WE VALUEBachelor’s degree or two additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree

PC literacy in MS office products

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated knowledge and intermediate level proficiency in KCP systems including MES, Matrix, Command Media, and others

Ability to interface effectively with Internal organizations

Understanding of KCP processes and knowledge of KCP product
