About the Role:This position resides within the division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City that serves as a fiscal agent to the U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury) and supports key payments business lines and programs in partnership with the Treasury.As an Operations Analyst you will provide analytical and problem resolution support for our ITS.gov application by facilitating the acceptance, review, tracking, completion, and resolution of cross border payments and other transactions. You will be involved in collecting and analyzing information and presenting results of daily operational activity. Assignments will change over time and become more complex to encompass receipt and verification of control documents, monitoring incoming and transmitted payments and files, arranging for and applying foreign exchange rates, identifying exception items, and supporting reconcilement and settlement.In this role you will communicate with Treasury and Global Service Provider staff frequently and apply work flow processing and accounting principles to daily work. You will work with others to initiate, validate, provide feedback, and evaluate results as part of coordinating complex projects initiatives. Your assignments can become complex and will require a strong attention to detail and the use of technology systems. This position is well suited for those that enjoy developing a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures and can apply Bank and System technical tools and applications effectively.The primary job location for this position will be the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank office; however, remote work options will be considered. For a full time remote associate, travel may be required based on specific work demands. Travel is not anticipated to exceed 5%. The FRB will provide some work from home flexibility for Kansas City based associates. Important Activities- Manage and execute all aspects of complex international payment process flows including, but not limited to: process tracking, value date management, Foreign Exchange (FX) estimates and purchases, exception item tracking, settlement and accounting functions, and problem resolution.
- Provide expertise and perspective related to domestic and international payment systems and specific processing conventions.
- Monitor workflow status and prepare, analyze, and present reports related to quality measures, quantitative trends, and other program metrics.
- Design and build moderately complex database queries for ad hoc requests and for recurring reporting needs, based on stakeholder specifications.
- Develop training plans and materials for department employees and assists management in cross training staff on various job responsibilities.
- Support testing efforts and provides guidance on system enhancements by partnering with relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in periodic business continuity testing and system validation efforts.

- Banking operations experience, preferably in international payment processing and/or settlement.
- Computer skills with knowledge and application of macros/Visual Basic or Microsoft Access.
- Typically requires at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
- Computer skills in programs including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and e-mail programs.
- Incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless the Bank grants an accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
- Must be able to work from either our Kansas City, MO or Cleveland, OH offices when not working from home. Candidates who cannot regularly work from those offices will not be considered for this position. We do offer some work from home flexibility.
- United States citizenship is required for this position.
- Master's degree or comparable advanced degree.
- Certifications in the areas of project management, MIS tools, and presentations desired.
- Knowledge of budget and accounting principles and systems.
- Knowledge of various industry payment systems and networks including ACH, Fedwire, and/or SWIFT.
- Position may require a minimal amount of intermittent travel, up to 5 percent.
