Start hereThis role reports to the Manager of Packaging.Shift(s)/Schedule(s):1st: Monday-Thursday 5:00am-3:30pm2nd: Mon-Thursday 2:00pm-12:30amThe Kansas City CSS Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician IV supports clinical trial projects through the packaging of clinical trial supplies; ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with regulatory requirements, good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician IV’s essential function is the operation of primary and secondary packaging equipment. Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician IV’s will run bottle or blister production equipment in primary packaging. This position reports to the Production Supervisor and may accept tasks issued from Team Leads and Room Leads.The Role

Ensure that during all packaging operations the site’s safety, quality and compliance metrics are met or surpassed while meeting corporate and site standards and policies

Able to run Blister and/or Bottle equipment as an advanced operator and act as a technical specialist for changing over packaging equipment between batch records

Alert management of any potential deviations or infractions in a timely manner

Responsible for set-up and operations of non-portable production equipment and documents activities within the batch record or other portable equipment as needed

Must receive “sign off” of proficiency and maintain it in all required Blister and/or Bottle equipment

Minimize production downtime through advanced troubleshooting skills

Delegates tasks to other Technician II’s or I’s as needed to aid in equipment set-up, breakdown or operation

Prepare and complete documentation in compliance with SOPs and cGMP

Maintain and stay current on all necessary training required to support both primary and secondary packaging operations in Compliance Wire and all other GMP and work-related class room training

Supports equipment settings and troubleshooting activities

Assist Maintenance Technicians with Preventive Maintenance and Calibration activities

Other duties as assigned

The Candidate

High School degree or equivalent

3 years of clinical trial packaging or related manufacturing/operations experience preferred

Proven written and verbal communication skills

Strong mechanical skills

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Ability to work in a team environment

High attention to detail

Strong organizational skills in alignment with 5S standards

Able to work with little or no supervision

Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet competing workplace demands while maintaining the highest level of quality in all work performed
