Job Purpose: Design and develop innovative new products and technologies to robust quality standards and in a manner consistent with business strategy and processesDemonstrate end-to-end product lifecycle ownership that supports achievement of vitality and growth targets that outperform our chosen market segments.Responsibilities: Develops technology and process know-how to ensure designs are technologically competitiveCreate detailed connector, contact, and cable designsLead / support group design reviews using calculations, experimental results, or other verification methodsInterpret product specifications and translate them into design and / or manufacturing requirementsCoordinate the construction of functional and non-functional prototypes with internal and external vendorsManage / support project management of all assigned tasks. Establish timelines for all project tasks and follow-up with project team on task statusProvide technical support to organizational stakeholders including Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing and SalesPerform root cause analyses utilizing established problem-solving tools and methodologiesSupport Sales and Marketing in preparing quotations and bid packagesDemonstrate behaviors consistent with the Smiths Way value system
