About the Role

We are looking for a Systems Application Analyst to join our department. In this role you will be responsible for the availability and smooth operation of a Treasury payment system. This will include providing application-specific support and monitoring in a production environment. As a trusted partner you will provide subject matter expertise to Treasury colleagues. By leveraging your technical and business knowledge you will make application enhancements recommendations during the software development lifecycle. You will also provide testing and production technical support to resolve problems, and be a representative for the application support team when we interact with other Federal Reserve System groups and Treasury.

The primary desired work location for this position is Kansas City, but full time remote candidates will be considered. We do provide hybrid work schedules for our associates that live in Kansas City or one of our District office cities.

Important Activities
  • Provide technical support for business solutions, application-related user issues, and/or system hardware problems by performing root causes analysis. Communicate status of resolution to appropriate parties. May be required to provide technical support outside of normal business hours.
  • Propose technology solutions to incorporate, improve, redesign, and/or enhance business processes. May guide and assist business owners and/or project managers in determining the scope and vision of solutions. Identify gaps and may conduct relevant research during the development lifecycle.
  • Manage projects according to established standards by communicating with relevant stakeholders on status of implementation, application-related issues, application requirements, enhancements, changes, outages, and/or other production disruptions.
  • Provide guidance on the development and prioritization of system enhancements by working with relevant stakeholders (i.e., product owners, technical support teams, developers, testers, and/or end-users). Track, analyze, test, and validate infrastructure and software changes, which includes developing user acceptance test scripts.
  • Design and build moderately complex database queries for ad hoc requests and for recurring reporting needs, based on stakeholder specifications.
  • Proactively monitor live application event logs and system-generated alarms, interprets the events, and provide recommended course of remediation.
  • Perform installation and configuration of server applications on designated environments, which includes contingency planning and regular contingency testing of applications and related infrastructure. Identifies gaps in resiliency and proposes solutions.
  • Coordinate collection of testing results and provides guidance to technical teams on prioritized defect resolution.
  • Review and/or create application system documentation (i.e., processes, procedures, system flow diagrams) for supported products.
  • Manage and/or build relationships with National IT/local IT support groups and vendors. For vendors, monitor deliverables and deadlines, ensures vendor compliance with contracts, and leads resolution of technical issues. Serve as liaison to customers and user departments to implement information programs/systems, ascertain needs and acceptance, and to resolve problem situations.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree specializing in information technology or a closely related field from an accredited two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
  • Entry level candidates do not have to any previous experience. Candidates with 3 or more years of experience providing post-production second-level application support will be considered at the Experienced or Senior levels.
  • Foundational knowledge of application monitoring, application support, and payment systems preferred.
  • Must provide on-call support over weekend and/or evening hours as part of a team rotation.
