About the RoleNational IT Access Management & Provisioning - Operating Systems (AMP-OS) department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is hiring for a Systems Application Analyst responsible for technical support for business solutions, application-related user issues, and/or system problems by performing root cause analysis for the department's Zero Trust Solutions Team. This is a newly formed team with a primary objective to implement and support Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), including Just-In-Time (JIT) privileged access provisioning capabilities, to complement the Federal Reserve's comprehensive information security and resiliency practices. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain Identity & Access Management (IAM) experience to modernize the enterprise cybersecurity model in working with experienced information security professionals.

Work with a team of IAM Architects/Engineers and information security professionals/leadership to assist Federal Reserve System (FRS) business lines, service partners, and application owners with implementing Zero Trust framework and business processes. Participate in collaboration engagements related to assessing, strategizing, prioritizing, requirement gathering, and implementing cybersecurity capabilities related to core pillars of National IT's Privileged Access Management (PAM) framework. Provide a blend of technical and business support for the Zero Trust Solutions team.

The primary desired work location for this position is Kansas City, but we will consider remote worker candidates. For our Kansas City based candidates this position offers the flexibility to work from home up to 80% of the time.

Key Activities:
  • Provide technical support for business solutions and application-related user issues by performing root cause analysis.
  • Propose technology solutions to incorporate, improve, redesign, and/or enhance business processes.
  • Guide and assist business owners and/or product managers in determining the scope and vision of solutions. Identify gaps and may conduct relevant research during the development lifecycle.
  • Assist with product feature delivery and assist relevant stakeholders (i.e., product owners, production support teams, operations, and/or end users) with system enhancement prioritization.
  • Track, analyze, test, and validate infrastructure and software changes, which includes developing user acceptance test scripts.
  • Support installations and configuration of server applications on designated environments, which may include contingency planning and testing of applications and related infrastructure.
  • Update, maintain, and monitor the operation of automated systems and applications while adhering to Enterprise Change/Asset Management processes and procedures for application updates.
  • Proactively monitor live application event logs, interpret application events, and engage appropriate technical teams to identify and implement recommended course of remediation.
  • Verify applications comply with Information Security policies, standards, and processes following the SAFR lifecycle. Review and/or create application system documentation (i.e., processes, procedures, system flow diagrams) for supported products.
  • Manage and/or build relationships with National IT/local IT support groups and vendors. For vendors, monitor deliverables and deadlines and lead resolution of technical issues.
  • Serve as liaison to customers and user departments to implement information programs/systems, ascertain needs and acceptance, and to resolve problem situations.

Qualifications:
  • Associates degree specializing in Information Technology or a closely related field from an accredited two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.
  • Typically requires at least 6 years of relevant professional work experience.
  • Senior to Mastery understanding of subject. Has in-depth and/or breadth of knowledge in discipline.
  • ITIL V4 foundation, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, CIISP, Security +, or similar certification preferred.
  • Incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless the Bank grants an accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
