About the Role

National IT Access Management & Provisioning - Operating Systems (AMP-OS) department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is hiring for a Technology Automation Engineer responsible for the design, configuration, and maintenance of automated solutions and strategies for the department's Zero Trust Solutions Team. This is a newly formed team with a primary objective to implement and support Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), including Just-In-Time (JIT) privileged access provisioning solution automation, to complement the Federal Reserve's comprehensive information security and resiliency practices. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain Identity & Access Management (IAM) experience to modernize the enterprise cybersecurity model in working with experienced information security professionals.

Work with the team's Solution Architect and information security professionals/leadership to engage with Federal Reserve System (FRS) business lines, service partners, and application owners to help evolve Zero Trust framework by designing actionable strategic automated solutions for adoption. Participate in collaboration engagements related to assessing, strategizing, and implementing cybersecurity capabilities related to core pillars of IAM's Privileged Access Management framework. Provide technical leadership and architecture solution support for the Zero Trust Solutions team.

The primary desired work location for this position is Kansas City, but we will consider remote worker candidates. For our Kansas City based candidates this position offers the flexibility to work from home up to 80% of the time.

Key Activities:
  • Research new automation capabilities and solutions to identify and implement solutions and process improvements.
  • Design, create, configure, and maintain solutions that may automate code deployment, performance monitoring, and other strategic zero trust solutions.
  • Execute and implement portfolio and solution strategies, including hands-on coding and operational issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with Agile Release Train Architects and product management on business drivers and product strategy to determine appropriate technical options to meet business needs.
  • Work with IAM Engineer peers to assist customers with the adoption of a Zero Trust cybersecurity paradigm focused on enterprise resource and data security.
  • Advise on emerging technologies and modern architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with PAM Product Owners and provide security solution design inputs.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in information technology from an accredited college or university or a closely related field from a technical/vocational school, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or work experience.
  • Typically requires at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Senior to Mastery level understanding of subject. Has specialized depth and/or substantial breadth of expertise in discipline. Often relied on to provide thought leadership regarding industry experience and knowledge.
  • Performs work independently. Coaches, delegates, and reviews work of less experienced staff, as well as serves as a knowledge resource.
  • Advanced technical acumen, aptitude, and analytical skills.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate in an articulate manner to a wide range of audiences.
