Our growing Endoscopy Center has an immediate opening for career seeking Perianesthesia RN! Our position is full-time, Monday-Friday with no evenings, weekend, or call.

Primary Responsibilities:

Initiates contact with the potential patient through a preoperative assessment phone call; document patients physiological and psychosocial status, safety issues, selfcare, educational needs and discharge planning. The right Registered Nurse is responsible for reporting any abnormal findings to anesthesiologist and surgeon. Ancillary responsibilities involve referring patients for further testing where indicated and providing clear, accurate preoperative instructions to the patient for preoperative prep, NPO status, arrival time, and expectations of the proposed procedure.

Expanded function responsibilities include:

Pre-op patient chart-review, physical assessment, IV skills, and medication administration.

Overseeing and assisting with patient transfer to procedure room.

Provide post-acute care once verbal report from operating room nurse and the anesthesiologist is received.

ECG interpretation, airway maintenance, and related postoperative patient monitoring.

Recognizes, intervenes and notifies anesthesia should nonconformity of regular post-anesthetic care arise.

Appropriate assessment and intervention with medication for pain management when directed.

Communications discharge instructions to responsible adult caretaker and patient.

Contacts patient to measures post-op state; informs surgeon noteworthy findings (abnormal bleeding, fever, drainage and pain level) where applicable.

Assists with supply ordering, medication management and inventory, cleaning/stocking procedure room in preparation for the next work day.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited nursing school.

Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure for State of Kansas.

Medical/Surgical, Critical Care, and/or PACU experience preferred.

BLS and ACLS required

Phlebotomy, IV therapy
