Genesis10 is seeking a Project Manager for a contract position with our client in Kansas City, MO. Duties : This Technical Project Manager position specializes in the planning, management and execution of Infrastructure, data, and software development projects. The Project Manager will need to organize and drive the tactical day-to-day details of network, server, database, integration, and software releases and be able to report status summaries on a weekly and monthly basis to audiences that are technical and functional/non-technical. This position is responsible for all aspects of Project Management, per PMI standards: Integration, Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Resource, Communications, Issue, Risk, Contract and Change Management.

Job Duties & Skills
  • Ability to manage multiple medium to large/complex projects at a time.
  • Understands the scope, objectives, and project's acceptance criteria to effectively manage them.
  • Works independently and receives minimal guidance; he/she is empowered to solve complex problems and lead the project to achieve its objectives.
  • Manages the resources assigned to the project, and organizes a detailed work breakdown structure. Tracks and holds project team members (including Vendors) accountable for services, performance, and deliverables. Communicates to PMO Director, Resource Managers, and/or Directors of Technology Services, if escalations are necessary.
  • Professionally approaches and effectively addresses situations in which conflict is present.
  • Consistently demonstrates quality and effective organization.
  • Observes, and is attentive to details. Takes initiative to manage risks and team inner-, inter-dependencies.
  • Works with a sense of urgency.
  • Continuously evaluates variances, between baseline and the current plan, to mitigate or avoid overruns > 2 weeks duration or > 10% of budget. Uses Earned Value concepts, to evaluate performance to plan.
  • Communicates often, and adapts communications according to the audience.
  • Ability to work in a flexible environment. While most hours will be during core working hours (8am-5pm CST), there will be times when evening or weekend work is required to support the team or serve our business customer. Example: Releases or changes into production will be performed outside of peak Train Operations hours.
  • Exemplifies Client Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, customers, and stakeholders.

Skills :
  • Minimum eight (8) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful track record of delivering projects that meet business objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools, including MS Teams and Sharepoint for documentation and collaboration plus PowerBI for data/project management analytics
  • Experience with Broadcom Clarity PPM, or like Program and Project Management tools
  • Experience with SAP, or like ERP systems for managing financials.
  • Experience delivering projects or experience in the following technologies:
  • Rail industry, supply chain, or transportation experience. Positive Train Control (PTC), a system for monitoring and controlling train movements, experience or exposure is a plus.
  • Mulesoft, an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technology platform for integrations
  • Informatica or other Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) technologies
  • Operating System, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Microsoft Windows, installations and upgrades
  • Database installations and upgrades, preferably SQL and DB2.
  • Data Management, for recovery or implementing data archiving and purging solutions
  • Security management and administration (e.g. LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory, SSL, TLS, SecureAuth Identity and Access Management)
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

Preferred Requirements
  • PMP certification
  • Bi-lingual in English & Spanish.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in technology.
